Polyps

子宫息瘤

What is a Polyp?

A polyp is a small growth that can develop on the lining of the uterus or cervix. Most polyps are non-cancerous (benign) but can sometimes cause symptoms like irregular bleeding or spotting.

Symptoms:

  • Irregular or heavy menstrual bleeding

  • Bleeding between periods

  • Bleeding after menopause

  • Spotting after sex

Causes:
Polyps form due to overgrowth of cells in the lining of the uterus or cervix. Hormonal changes and inflammation may play a role.

Treatment:
Most polyps can be removed through a simple procedure, especially if they cause symptoms or affect fertility. Your doctor will guide you on the best option.

If you experience unusual bleeding, talk to your doctor for proper diagnosis and care.
